A Snake in the Grass is the fifth episode of Survivor: Hawaii.
Reward Challenge: Lucky Number
Between the numbers 45-55 in the immunity challenge there is a lucky number - the person to choose it wins an adventage in the game (which was later revealed to be a double-vote in the next tribal council)
Immunity Challenge: Don't Be Caught in the Middle
6 members of Manu and Popoki will each post a number, and the 3 members of Honu will have to post 6 numbers. This will level off the tribes. The aim of the game is to avoid the middle. Tribes must either finish 1st or 3rd to avoid tribal. Members will post a numbers between 1-100, when someone posts a number, that same number cannot be used again by anyone else from any tribe.
Winner: Popoki, Honu
Immediately after Cassie gains Gerard and Tommy's trust, they learn from Sole that Cassie has a cross-tribal alliance with Alex (Summer told Sole, and Sole messaged the members of Honu). So if Honu loses a fifth time, Tommy and Gerard are going to vote off Cassie before she can join Alex at the merge. Tommy thinks that if the next day is a double elimination, Manu must finish first. That way Popoki loses one of their own (likely Xros for being inactive, because Zachary is starting to help the team), and Honu votes Cassie out. Then if Manu and Honu team up against Popoki at the merge, Popoki is able to be picked off one by one and Manu and Honu are able to take over.
Later on, there is a reward challenge. The reward is that the individual winner will get the ability to vote for two people at their next Tribal Council. Brian wins this challenge, and he gets an advantage going forward in the competition. Meanwhile, Gerda of Popoki is happy that her tribe has had success in the game so far.
At the immunity challenge, it is revealed that it is not a double elimination, and first and third place will win immunity. Popoki finishes first as usual, and Honu is starting to experience a rebirth and finishes third place, winning a challenge for the first time ever in the game. Manu has to head to Tribal Council to vote out one of their own.
Before Tribal Council, Sole approaches Summer and asks if he has the idol, and Summer says he doesn't. Sole believes Summer is telling the truth and they decided to try and find out who has the idol. They rule out Brian because he was inactive when it was hidden, and they both think that Kaaitlyn has it. If she doesn't, they think Yaniv is the closest other option. Sole and Summer ask if they have it, but they say no.
At Tribal Council, the Manu Alliance targets the other outsider, Brody. Brian votes for Brody, and since he can vote for two people, he votes for Kaaitlyn as well. Summer is unable to vote somehow and accidentally casts a self-vote. Brody does the same, going inactive again. As a result of this, the vote is a 5-1-1 vote against Brody.
