This is Like a Sick Joke is the first episode of Survivor: Revival.
Tribe Sorting Challenge: Miami Shark
The contestants are to play a game called Miami Shark. This is to help in the schoolyard pick later on.
Immunity Challenge: Fantasy Story
The castaways are to write a fantasy story, and it must consist of 5 chapters, each chapter MUST be written by a different tribe member (failure of doing so will result in ejection from the game). The criteria are; Fantasy elements (20 marks), Creativity in writing (15 marks), Spelling/punctuation/grammar (10 marks), and Character development (5 marks). The tribe who has the most marks will win the challenge! Also, each chapter must be no longer than 500 words.
They're back! 22 who have been "screwed over" by various events in their previous season are back for a second chance (or in one case, a third chance) at the title of Sole Survivor. These players had a variety of strategies, but none paid off. Most of these players didn't make it far last time, but they hope that this season will be there chance.
Also back from Laos is Ometepe03, who had been screwed over when one member of the opposing tribe failed to send in a vote to determine individual immunity. As a result, two people were immune at that Tribal Council, and Ometepe was blindsided by his ally Hickman, who had wanted to avoid a tiebreaker challenge.
Last from Laos is Chris, the only finalist returning for this season, who arguably lost the game because the jury was not allowed to revote after their initial vote had resulted in a tie.
|“||My biggest fear in returning is that I will be targeted based on my placement and challenge record from Laos. I don't want to be eliminated early...||”|
Returning from Survivor: Hawaii are Summer and Gerard, who had only 1 vote against him at the tribal council in which he was eliminated. The main target Sole played an idol, resulting in a 1-1-0 tie, and Gerard was eliminated at the revote. These two also played with not two sockpuppets in their season, which made overthrowing key players difficult at the merge.
From Survivor: Cuba come the Havana Three alliance, Luke, Jastine, and Duy. Luke was inexplicably voted out over an inactive, while Duy and Jastine were both placed on a tribe dominated by veterans after a tribe switch and were systematically eliminated after challenges were thrown.
Adam is back for a third shot! In his first season, Laos, he was blindsided by his own alliance at the second Tribal Council, while in his second season, Cuba, Jeremy played an idol on Jastine, sending Adam home 1-0, once again just short of the jury.
|“||After I left Cuba people started calling me a hero but this season they will see that I'm a die hard villain. I'll give revenge votes, blindside people and laugh about it. As for anyone who dares try to control me, you were mighty last season but on Revival THE MAD RUSSELL REIGNS SUPREME! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!||”|
Survivor: Egypt has 7 returning players, the most people to return from a particular season.Raphael was a first boot, eliminated before inactive players on his tribe, one of which was Austin, who had trouble competing due to "computer difficulties".
|“||Last time I play this game, I was blindside by a computer problem and it really ruined my chances of winning. This time I'm in it to win it and I won't go down without a fight.||”|
Also returning from the ill-fated Isis tribe are Aidan, who was inactive but still outlasted half the tribe, and Joshie, who could've had control of the game had his ally Pedro not self-voted himself out of the game.
|“||So, Sheerlloyd is back! This is my 1st confessional after i got booted out by my "trusted alliance" however, i can't dwell on the past and here is my fresh new start. Last season, i got voted out. this time, i'm not going home til i make it all the way.||”|
Two jurors and rivals from Egypt return as well. Qayyum, ostracized from the beginning of his game in Egypt, couldn't make any moves and was eliminated one cycle before the merge. Bailey made the merge, but was eliminated when his alliance overthrew him.
|“||Alright, first Revival confessional! I'm so ready for this. THIS will be the season. THIS is where I will make it through 21 people to make it to the end. My goal is not to be as cocky this time around. But I'm going to make it to the end. This is the season, I prove I have what it takes to be Sole Survivor!||”|
From Survivor: Switzerland come Courtney and Will, two members of the dysfunctional Valais tribe. Courtney was victimized by an odd double-tribal twist, while Will was taken out at a more conventional Double Tribal Council right before the merge. Maxwell had also barely missed the merge, being taken out that same night. Last from Switzerland is Wojtek, whose Lucerne Four alliance came crashing down at the final nine.
Lastly, two returning players from the most recent season at the time, Survivor: Nepal, were also in the game. Alex Hickman, the twin brother of Laos contestant Henry Hickman, was eliminated because a computer glitch ruined his challenge results. And finally, Brendan, who also has a twin albeit one that had not yet played, returns for another round of villainy, having seen his accusations of sockpuppetry backfire horribly.
Of these 22 returnees, only 1 will win!
|“||It's pretty obvious that two of us won't make it onto a tribe. I don't understand why you're hiding this from us.||”|
Alliances run rampant, and in order for people to feel secure, some mega alliances are built.
|“||Well, I am so excited to be here in Revival! I will play more aggressive this time. And I did that. I started the game by making a twelve-person alliance so we could probably control both tribes. It was an alliance between me, Gerard, Orange, Maxwell, Duy, Jastine, Luke, Adam, Wojtex, Lloyd, Bailey, and Joshie.||”|
|“||So, I'm mainly aligned with three different "alliances". I'm with Sunsummer, Maxwell, and Orange. We're all from the TD Wiki's so we're basically like the Total Drama 4. :D I trust them the most, honestly. Next, I'm aligned with Chris, and we're both from New Jersey, so we like instantly got along! :o Unless he actually hates me... Anyway, my final alliance is with Jastine, Duy, and Sunsummer, but I'm not sticking with Duy and Jastine.||”|
Two "tribes" are formed, and hearts are broken when as expected, two people are to be voted out, without any chance to play. However, there is no official tribal council thread, and the moderators continue to toy with the contestants, leading some people to think something is amiss.
|“||I hate this new twist :(||”|
|“||Uh... we kind of need our Tribal Council threads...||”|
|“||Holy Crap :|||”|
Ometepe and Jastine receive the most votes, but in a shocking twist, they are not eliminated but become team captains for a schoolyard pick. However, the last two not picked will be eliminated from the game, seeing their chance at Revival come to an end after just one day.
|“||Oh my god, if that isn't a plot twist I don't know what is. *does the Eliza face*||”|
|“||its like Tocantins and Palau had a Baby||”|
For the new Regreso, Jastine starts by picking Brendan, despite Brendan having voted for him at the fake Tribal Council. The next three Regreso picks are Summer, Orange, and Gerard, three members of the Total Drama 4. Oddly, with the fifth Regreso pick, Gerard takes CK instead of finishing off the quartet.
Meanwhile, with Vuelta's selections, Ometepe took Alex, the brother of the man who had blindsided him six seasons prior. After two picks, both Nepal returnees were off the board. Alex picks Joshie, who proceeds to form a "Swissgyptians" alliance with Bailey, Courtney, Lloyd, Wojtek, and Raphael.
With Regreso's last few picks, they take Aidan, Duy, and Luke, completing the Havana Three, as well as Total Drama 4 affiliate Will. Raphael takes Adam for Vuelta, leaving the only three-timer on the season in charge of deciding which two contestants would not get a second chance. Adam takes Maxwell, eliminating Austin and Qayyum from the game.
Austin and Qayyum are ultimately the two people who are not picked to join a tribe, and are eliminated from the game.
Brendan officially forms the Regreso Alliance with Will, Summer, Orange, and Gerard. In the meantime, the Havana Three secretly recruit CK and Aidan.
Regreso loses the storytelling challenge, and Luke is blamed by the tribe. However, Luke tries to pin the blame on the Regreso Alliance.
|“||I don't like putting the blame on people but basically this challenge was Summer Orange and Brendan's fault for not stepping up to do a single thing in the challenge. At least i wrote a short chapter. THEY DID NOTHING. Didn't even give feedback on ANYTHING. It's just so annoying to know that i have Dislexia and i can do more than them.||”|
Summer wants to desperately eliminate Luke, so he tries to split apart the Havana Three with a lie about his friend dying.
|“|| I have just committed the scheme of the season! I wanted to oust Luke (because he did not pick Maxwell when I told him to) and get the idol at the same time. Then I came up with arguably the most evil scheme in the history of this ORG. It started when I got my core alliance of five (me, Gerard, Orange, Will, Brendan) to vote against Luke. Aidan has agreed to vote off Luke as well. I talked to the outsiders (CK, Jastine, Duy) about voting me out for the following reasons: I was "stressed and my friend got killed in a car crash." In reality, my head is completely in the game and my friend is alive and well. I think Luke is the only one that knows I'm lying, but I also don't think anyone believes him. He'll be voting for me, I think.
I'm expecting this to be a six-four vote. The four votes for me will send me to the Pyramid, where I get the idol. This scheme will accomplish all of my current goals: Oust Luke, take revenge by voting him out, getting to the Pyramid and get the idol, and dictate Regreso. May the best man win!
But some people don't buy the lie. Crucially, one of the non-believers is swing vote CK.
|“|| Sun Summer is a sick dude. He messages a bunch of us this morning saying a friend of his died in an accident. Harsh right, but I think this is a Johnny FairPlay moment. Why? He told 5 people he wants to continue playing but he told me to vote for him. I lied and said I would. I think he wants to split my alliance. Maybe he wants my vote for the pyramid. Either way, the lie is terrible, my friend nearly died in an accident this year, it was horrific. If that truly happened, you would walk away from this game, that's why I believe he is lying.
Moving forward, if summer performs poorly, he must go. I don't trust him and he is a liar! I don't know where Gerard stands. I haven't spoken to Brandon yet. And I should probably look out on Jastine, he was voted out from his first group...
Orange mentions in the Tribal Council thread that he doesn't have Facebook access, which by this era was almost a requirement for communication. Brendan, who had allies in Nepal who only used email, starts to wonder if Orange is active enough to participate in the game. Brendan also refutes Luke's claims about the challenge, pointing out that only half the tribe was supposed to compete.
|“||I wasn't one of the five writers. I feel I am not at fault for this one.||”|
While four members of the Regreso Allance stick together and vote for Luke, Brendan picks up right where he left off in Nepal and starts thinking about who could potentially have a Hidden Immunity Idol. A year prior to the game, Brendan had used an idol and his own grandfather's death to his advantage in an off-site ORG, so he begins to suspect that Summer somehow found it, and votes for Orange in an attempt to save himself, just in case.
The Havana Three, along with affiliates CK and Aidan, vote for Orange as well, and with no idols actually in play at this point, Orange is voted out 6-4 and becomes the only person to be voted out first in two separate Survivor: Wikia seasons. Luke becomes the first person to be sent to the Pyramid, while Will, Summer, and Gerard are left wondering what had just transpired.
| Tribal Council 1:|
Andrew (6 votes)
Aidan, Brendan, CK, Duy , Jastine & Luke
Luke (4 votes)
Gerard, Andrew, Summer, Will
| VOTED OFF:|
|“||My vote tonight is for Orange, just because I'm not in the mood for backstabbing.||”|
|“||It would be hilarious if you were voted off first again. But really, I'm voting you just in case Summer pulls an idol out of fucking nowhere, since you took the spot of Summer's #1 ally right out from under me.||”|
|“||Whatever you're doing, you're doing good Summer. I don't trust you and will find a way to vote you out. But now I just stick with the plan.||”|
|“||Sorry dude, it's just hard communicating with you. Hopefully you are eliminated and not somehow a new team captain!||”|
